We will never come back to this restaurant again. After making a reservation several days in advance we were led to a table very close to the bar where a very noisy party was occurring. We requested a different table, so we could have a conversation without shouting, there were several available and were told that they were all reserved. Our visit was going well up to the point our appetizers were served. Then our waiter, Riley, disappeared. After waiting 45 minutes for our entrees we flagged down another server and asked that he send our waiter to our table. Several minutes late Riley appeared with our meals. At that point all we wanted to do was get out of there so we asked that the meals be boxed. They were and we left. There were several large parties so I have no doubt the staff was consumed with attending to them. Needless to say we won’t be back.

We also enjoy the food. This particular Friday evening we looking forward to a date night but ended up sitting next to birthday party. Ambiance was not great.

Service very poor. Waited 30 minutes and only got water. No drinks, nothing. Incompetent staff!

Vitos has a great happy hour so the bar was very full and lively. We were there on a Monday night so there wasn’t a huge crowd in the dining room, so the noise level was OK, it would be very loud if dining room full. Unfortunately the food was just fair. The pasta dishes were sitting in water and had no real flavor to it. My pasta was supposed to be a garlicky shrimp and it had no garlic in it or sauce .The toasted ravioli was great as well as the red sauce and Caesar salad. We ordered 5 dishes and only 2 were satisfactorty.

Vito's has undergone a significant change in the last year. It used to be a special place we could always rely on for good food and atmosphere, but recently it has morphed into a loud, more casual place with so-so food. I regret to say we will probably not return to Vito's after having mediocre food, a $30 bottle of wine and a $110 bill for two people. I did not even finish my entree and left very unsatisfied.

Why do we have to pay inflated prices for mediocre food & untrained service people? The pasta dishes tasted as if a can of something was opened, the tutto mare had the strangest sauce which did not complement the seafood...really should have been sent back & the halibut special was the best thing at our table but despite the toppings was bland. The risotto was the tastiest thing. Our waiter a nice person & was trying I guess but not trained & made numerous mistakes with our order & then the bill was not even divided properly... read more

Food is average. Dinner service is wayyyyy too slow. Go for appetizer and drinks on the patio. IF you’re not in a rush.

Don't know if an unseasonably cold St. Louis evening contributed, but we were only one of three tables at the restaurant. Regardless, the service was very slow. Ten minutes or more to get a glass of wine. Much longer to get the waiter to come back to allow us to order. Food was pretty good, but overshadowed by the poor service. Even paying the check was a long ordeal. The restaurant can and should do better.
