Honestly, from other reviews we were looking forward to dining at GIO's. The positive was that the service was good & the meatball appetizer was very good! All the other food was very bland. It was overall a disappointing experience. We will not be returning.
The food was wonderful and the cocktails were very good. We did think it was odd the waitress outwardly criticized some of the dishes we asked about, telling us they were not good and she would recommend against them. Our biggest surprise came at the end of the evening after we paid the bill. Everything went well with the exception of our server. He got some of the orders wrong. I'm not sure if it was all his fault or the kitchens. For example, one of the orders was for a fig and apple salad with shrimp. The figs were left out. The rigatoni had some changes and they were totally ignored. Took 1hr and 15 minutes from the time seated to receive the food which was extremely too long. Didn't feel like the staff was apologetic or followed up with the people at my table to refill drinks and give us updates on when we were going to receive our food.
overpriced, server forgot to submit order, soup extremely salty, couldn't eat, they comped the soup
Have to say the food was disappointing. Lacked flavor and was overpriced.
Pricie and young modern place but not special for $20 lunch. Been there for dinner too. Underwhelming.
I noticed that the portion size is significantly smaller than it used to be when it was being operated under the name vetoes in the valley. May be coincidental, I don’t know… All the ingredients for fresh and tasty. There was just significantly less on my plate. I ordered, the grilled vegetable salad. It started out with our server coming out flustered and over whelmed. No problem, we know what we want. Ordered calamari, cucumber watermelon sangria, watermelon salad, scallops, pasta.
